How to answer the “Tell us about your strengths and weaknesses interview question?

One of the most common interview questions that most of us get asked or will be asked is “what are your strengths and weaknesses? This blog will give you a list of strengths and weaknesses you can mention in the job interview and the best answers that will help you get the interview in your favour.

You may be asked about your strengths and weaknesses in one question or in two different questions. In case if you are asked to answer both at once then share your weakness first and then end with sharing your strength so that you can end your answer on a positive note.

what are employers looking for when they ask you?

The following could be the two possible ways in which interviewers may ask you “tell us about your strengths and weaknesses ”

Q1. what are your key strengths?

This is another most asked fresher interview questions the interviewer ask this question to know how much suitable you are for the job role and understand the challenges you might face in the daily tasks of the job. So the best idea is to share strengths that are in relation to your job.

Sample answer (example):- “sir’ my key strengths is that I am a quick learner, for example, I had to represent my college In an inter-college art exhibition, and I was introduced to the team at the last minute. But still, I understood our exhibition and artefacts and was able to present them with great success”.

Q2. what are your weaknesses?

It becomes very intimidating when you have to share your weaknesses, that too with your hiring manager one thing is sure you must never say that you don’t have any weakness it makes you look overconfident but then you can share a weakness that does not impact your current job role.

Sample answer (example):- I am too critical of myself. Something that I have observed throughout my career is that I always feel that I could have done better even after meeting the needs of the project. Earlier this led to burnout and criticising self-talk. But I have found a way to overcome this by taking a moment to celebrate my achievements. It has helped me stay contempt and boost my self-esteem. And this has helped me appreciate my team and other supports.

Always elaborate on your strengths and weakness with some quick examples.
